As we look forward and plan for the future we realized it was important to take a moment to step back and reflect on how we got here. Some 25+ years have passed since we began this journey, and while much has changed some of the most important aspects of our work and inspiration remain the same.

UVI began with two people's passion for sound and music technology, crafting sample packs and patches on the hardware of yesteryear. While our ranks have changed over time, now numbering over 25, and our teams have grown, our founders' shared passion for audio and technology remains, binding us together and driving us forward.

Today, instead of sending you floppy disks and printed serial numbers by post, we commune on a global network. Instead of thinking in terms of kilobytes, we think in terms of gigabytes and terabytes. Still, our commitment to quality and musicality is unwavering, it guides our day-to-day work and shapes almost every aspect of our process.

We realized early on that technology was as much a part of the music we loved as the notes, and that to fully achieve our vision we would need an integrated approach. As a result we started investing heavily into our own DSP, allowing us even more autonomy over our sounds and the way in which we all create them - evident in no small part by the incredible oscillators and 100+ effects available in Falcon.

Our aim has always been to provide the very best sounds possible by whatever means are available, and this has meant a near-constant state of adaptation. As technology continues to clip along we are all promised more-perfect solutions with each advance, and with each advance we grow and learn, finding new ways to leverage those improvements into creative and inspiring products.

After decades of experimentation, recording and processing millions of samples, and after more than 100 commercial releases, we have reached a privileged place where we no longer feel burdened by limitation or technique. Rather we find ourselves inspired, with both the creative freedom and in-house talent to pursue the products and sounds we find compelling, and to do them our way.

Often the future can represent change and uncertainty, but as we look back we can see a number of threads running all the way back to the beginning; a desire for creative autonomy, a passion for sound and technology, a spirit of perseverance, and an ability to always look for the upshot, within these constants is a compass, that both guides our path and illuminates the future.

Reflecting on the past years since the release of SonicPass, we're proud to see how it has become an integral part of many creative journeys. As we gaze into the future, we remain committed to offering even more: more inspiring sounds, more innovative effects, and more powerful tools to fuel your creativity.
